"The portrait was amazing!!!  Rich's family was overjoyed as were the rest of us who came to know him.  The quality of the work you did was second to none.  Thank you for taking the time and putting forth the obvious effort to complete the day for us and provide us with something very special."
Sincerely, Jamie Hart

"Not a day goes by that I do not look at, and enjoy this portrait. This was a once in a life time expense that I would endure, and have found it to be worth every penny spent. There is not a single picture hanging in my house that I enjoy as much as I do this one. Again, after a year of enjoyment, I want to thank you for a wonderful family keep sake."
Sincerely,
Denise C. Canter

"We can not tell you how much we LOVE the portraits of Madison!  As you said, they are more beautiful in person.  Thank you for helping us to make this a most special Christmas gift and hopefully, we will have several more in the near future to order. You are the BEST deal around...that's for sure and you make it so easy. Thanks again, Jerry.  Merry Christmas to you and yours."
Judy Martelli

"I do not have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to tell you how wonderful, fabulous, perfect the portrait of our kids is.  I do not recall ever being so moved and crying so much for joy. Thank you for helping make this a fabulous fifty for me."
Sincerely, Amy Makson

Artist James A Jackson Jr. has a real zeal for life.  “I’ve done a lot of things in my life and I’m not done yet.  I just like to try different things. “  This curiosity and his varied interest are reflected in his art.

His high school art teacher, pushed James to excel in his art.  “She encouraged me to enter some of my work in several juried art shows, and as a result I received a few awards.  Those awards gave me the confidence to continue to develop as and artist.”  For the most part, James is self-taught.

His first commission portrait was done in 1966 while serving his country in the Air Force.  The portrait was of one of his fellow airmen.

James has been a flight instructor and cargo pilot.  He also worked in the pharmaceutical indistry.

In 1990, James began promoting himself as a professional artist.  “I started doing portraits of friends and relatives and before long I was being commissioned to do portraits.  I estimate that I’ve done over 300 portraits since 1990, including the illustration of a soon to be published book with over 30 pencil portraits.   I was an honor to be commissioned to illustrate the book.”  James’ landscapes, wildlife, portraits and other art pieces are in the collections of hundreds of people all over the world.  Historical figures such as General Colin Powell and General Benjamin O. Davis Jr., Commander of the Tuskegee Airmen and the family down the street have James’ art in their collection.

James is working on a series of character studies and historical portraits about the history of African American aviation.  James does landscapes, wildlife, aviation art and of course commissioned portraits.  James is an avid race fan and is working on some racing art.

James retired from the corporate world in 2006 to pursue a full time art career.
